ICOMOS CLIMATE ACTION WORKING GROUP WEBINAR 5.03 12-13 CEST

Climate change remains a priority for the heritage sector; however, a lack of tools and resources have left many feeling powerless. Since 2016, the ICOMOS Climate Action Working Group (CAWG) has led efforts to address this challenge. Through projects and collaborations, it has supported the development of new methodologies, toolkits and educational resources.
This webinar will focus on two such efforts. These are the ICOMOS CAWG Climate Literacy Trainings and the Preserving Legacies Heritage Adapts campaign, where ICOMOS is a leadership partner.
Climate Action Working Group is building capacities, networks and developing policy messages that highlight the contributions of cultural heritage to climate action, including latest UNFCCC heritage-centric Plans To Accelerate Solutions (PAS) on the Global Climate Action Agenda – Heritage Adapts, Heritage Now and Heritage in National Adaptation Plans.
Climate Literacy Training for Heritage course is a set of resources designed to provide foundational climate knowledge for those in the heritage sector. Informed by CAWG studies and experience, it is designed to increase the confidence and ability of heritage professionals to engage in climate actions.
The Preserving Legacies Heritage Adapts campaign is a global initiative seeking to support 3,000 heritage places to take adaptation actions by 2030. Through online training and guidance customised for the heritage sector, the campaign promotes values-based and community-led adaptation actions.
This webinar will be of interest to anyone looking to engage in climate action, including ISCs, NCs, WGs. It is relevant to all heritage professionals.
